GOD BECOMING MAN IS A THEOLOGICAL VERACITY

Jesus Christ is the only person in all the history of humanity where genealogy is traced to Adam. The Incarnation of God in the person of Jesus was prophesied throughout the Old Testament, and the Messianic foundation of the incarnation is even more profound in Genesis. Likewise, all 39 books of the Old Testament declare Jesus as the Christ, the coming Messiah, and depicts Him in various types.  Is it a coincidence that all these prophecies were fulfilled in none other than the historical Jesus of Nazareth?

GOD BECOMING MAN IS A THEOLOGICAL VERACITY

THE MESSIANIC PROMISE OF THE GOD INCARNATE

The Incarnation of God in the person of Jesus was prophesied throughout the Old Testament and the Messianic foundation of the incarnation is even more profound in Genesis. Genesis 3:15 tells us that God will incarnate as the seed of the woman and the seed of the woman refers to the Messiah. God promised the patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, that God incarnate would descend in their lineage. The lineage will continue through Judah, Boaz, Obed, Jessie, and David, and He will be called the Son of David. Seven hundred years before the coming of the Messiah, the prophet Isaiah foretells the incarnation of God.

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

“Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel” Isaiah 7:14

Immanuel, in Hebrew, means God with us. And, of course, 700 hundred years after Isaiah's prophecy, an Angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is [g]conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name [h]Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.22 So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: 23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” Matthew 1:20-23

The angel said to the shepherds: 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a [d]manger.”  Luke 1:11,12 Jesus Christ is the only person in all the history of humanity where genealogy is traced to Adam. He will also be called ‘The Lord is our righteousness by the Prophet Jeremiah (Jeremiah 23:5–6). Likewise, all 39 books of the Old Testament declare Jesus as the Christ, the coming Messiah and depicts Him in various types.
